Chassis:
The first of eight PC22s built for the 1993 season, this example served as the test and development car. It was tested for Team Penske by Emerson Fittipaldi and Paul Tracy before the start of the season at Phoenix. Ayrton Senna also tested for Team Penske at Phoenix and it could be that he used this chassis during this test. It was then sold to Bettenhausen Racing, who fielded the car in the Indy 500 for Stefan Johansson, who finished 11th. The best results that year were a third at Vancouver and a fourth at Cleveland with Johansson at the wheel. Following its retirement from contemporary racing, it was eventually restored to the original Team Penske livery. The rare Penske was subsequently sold by Chuck Haines' Can-Am Cars. In 2017, it set the second fastest time up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
