Chassis:
Using chassis 962-173, which Jochen Dauer had acquired from Porsche in 1991, this was the second 962 LM built. It was completed to GT1 or Sport specifications and ready in time for the Le Mans Trials. Finished in bare Kevlar, it set the the third fastest time. For the race it was finished in Shell colours and ran as high as second overall in the closing stages. It was ultimately passed by Eddie Irivine in a delayed Toyota 94CV. Chassis GT002 nevertheless placed third overall and second in class behind its sister car. It was not raced since and has been retained Porsche.
