Chassis:
Barker & Co. Coachbuilders clothed this 6½ Litre Bentley with a lavish Sports Tourer body for Major J.T. North. One of two examples fitted by Barker with this style, the car could seat up seven adults thanks to two fold-down occasional seats. After it changed hands twice on the British Isles, it was sold to South Africa in 1937. During the War, it was converted to run on charcoal due to fuel shortages. During its 75-year spell in South Africa, it had several long-term owners including a the diminutive Mrs. Alva Wilkins who used the car on the road for 20 years. In the early 2010s, it was repatriated to the United Kingdom, where it was comprehensively restored. During the process, the original paintscheme of light blue with black fenders was discovered. After being shown at select events, it was consigned to the 2018 Bonhams Quail Lodge auction.
