Chassis:
Ordered by North American distributor Luigi Chinetti, this alloy 250 GT SWB was finished in a unique colour of burgundy called vinaccia. It was campaigned by Chinetti's North American Racing Team (NART) with considerable success for Charles Hayes and Bob Grossman through to the end of 1962. Along the way, it scored five SCCA races victories. The next owner raced the car again through to the 1964 season. Following its contemporary racing career, it was acquired by noted collector owner Paul Pappalardo. Shortly thereafter he managed to reunite the car with its original engine and gearbox, which had been replaced during its racing career.. Following several more American owners, it joined the stable of a German enthusiast in 1986. In 2011, it was certified by Ferrari Classiche.
