Chassis:
Originally conceived as a Cougar C02 back in 1983, this car was raced extensively for close to a decade. Fitted with a Cosworth V8, it was raced at Le Mans in 1983 and 1984 with little luck. For 1985, it evolved into the Porsche flat-six engined C12. At the end of the year, it was sold to the United States where it was raced briefly as the JRE SR-71 using a Cosworth engine once again. The car was then returned to Courage Competition where it was entered at Le Mans for a fourth time in 1988. Fitted with a Porsche engine once more, it competed as a C22 at Le Mans in 1989 in what was the chassis' fifth appearance. For the 1991 season, it was updated once more, now to C26S specification and entered for what would be its sixth Le Mans race. Unfortunately, the car was found underweight and was disqualified from practice. Finally retired from contemporary racing, it was then displayed for many years in the Le Mans museum. In 2002, it was acquired by American historic racer and Creation Autosportif team owner Mike Jankowski. He had the car returned to full running order, retaining the C26S configuration it was last raced in. He raced the car in the Historic Group C series before selling it on to Roger Wills in 2010. He also briefly campaigned the car until it was acquired by the current, Swedish owner some years later through specialist dealer Taylor & Crawley.
