Chassis:
Reportedly, the very first 500 LM completed, this car was entered at Le Mans by Stéphane Ratel himself. After placing 22nd in the preliminary test, the car retired from the race due to accident damage. For the 1994 season, it was updated to 600 LM specifications and raced extensively in the new BPR Championship. With Alain Ferté at the wheel, it won the Silverstone round of the British GT Championship. Following a pair of outings in 1995, it was returned to Venturi. Over the subsequent winter, it received modifications to bring it up to 600 SLM specifications. Fielded by Venturi Team Lécuyer, it was effectively the works car and raced at Paul Ricard, Monza and Jarama. Chassis LM003 was also entered for Le Mans but it failed to make it through the pre-qualification. It did run in the practice sessions as a reserve but it did not get to start the race. That was the final contemporary outing for the car but over the years it has seen action in club events. Today, it has been restored to its 1996 specification and was demonstrated by its French owner during the Global Endurance Legends session at the 2017 Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or.
