Chassis:
The first LMP-1 Roadster S built and raced, this chassis debuted at the 1999 Road Atlanta ALMS round where David Brabham and Eric Bernard placed fifth after qualifying second. It was then raced at Le Mans, where Bernard and Brabham were joined by Butch Leitzinger and finished seventh. Later in the year, Bernard and Brabham won at Portland and then grabbed a victory in the Petit Le Mans along with Andy Wallace. The following year, it was raced at Le Mans by an all-Japanese team and then briefly by the Danish Den Bla Avis in three further European races. For 2002, it was pressed back into service and fielded by Gunnar Racing in a striking patriotic livery. After a brief return to the tracks, it was then retired from contemporary racing. Chassis 01 has since been restored to its 1999 configuration. In 2018, it returned to Le Mans for the Le Mans Classic where it was demonstrated in the Global Endurance Legends sessions.
