Chassis:
Earmarked for the works supported Team Bigazzi, this M3 was built up to Group A specification using BMW Motorsport kit number 208. It was used during the 1991 DTM by BMW M Team Bigazzi, who fielded the car for their drivers Steve Soper and Armin Hahne. For 1992, it was converted to run endurance events with the Spa 24 Hours as the main target. It was entered by Team Bigazzi for Christian Danner, Steve Soper and Jean-Michel Martin. They won the closely disputed race from two other M3s with the second placed car a mere 0.48 seconds behind after a last corner pass by Soper on Eric van de Poele. In more recent years, the car was recommissioned, retaining the Spa 24 Hours winning configuration. At the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it was reunited with Steve Soper, who described it as one of the best cars he had ever raced. Shortly thereafter, the M3 was sold by its owner of 25 years.
