Sold new to the Racer's Group, this 911 GT3 RS debuted at the Daytona 24 Hours. The driving duties were shared by Kevin Buckler, Michael Schrom, Timo Bernhard and Jörg Bergmeister. Starting 16th, the Racer's Group car scored a surprise victory, outlasting and beating the all-new Daytona Prototypes and the intrinsically faster GTS cars. It was brought again at the Sebring 12 Hours but without Porsche works drivers Bernhard and Bergmeister, the team could do no better than 21st overall. Restored to its Daytona winning configuration, it was brought out for the 2009 Monterey Car Week.
