Chassis:
Originally delivered to Belgian Liliane de Réthy early in 1958, the one-off 250 GT Coupe Speciale first changed hands in 1967 when it was gifted to Dr. Ernest de Bakey. He had initially refused the gift but soon found a bill of lading waiting for him at home. In 1968, chassis 0751GT was sold to a fellow doctor, who modified the car with 15-inch wheels to accommodate disc brakes. During the early 1970s, the car changed hands several times and a restoration was started. The work was not completed until the car joined the stable of John Wilson Clinard, who would own the car from 1977 through to 1984. The subsequent owners were noted American collector Anthony Wang and Gregory Noblet, who was the son of French racing driver Pierre Noblet. In 1997, the car briefly returned into Belgian hands when Philippe Lancksweert had it restored once more, using Italian specialists to do the work. After a brief spell in the hands of Todd Morici, it entered long-term American ownership in January of 1998. During this spell, it was shown at the 2001 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance but otherwise rarely seen in public. The one-off Ferrari was finally consigned to headline the RM Sotheby's January 2019 Arizona sale.
