Believed to be one of just three right-hand drive SE010s built, this example eventually ended up in the Fabrizio Violati's formidable Maranello Rosso Collection. After the museum was disbanded, the car was sold at auction and acquired by an American enthusiast. At that time, little was known about its period history but over a five year period of extensive research a clear picture was established. Its racing history could be traced back to 1970 when it was campaigned extensively in Italian road races and hill-climbs by the likes of Mario Casoni, Hans Ortner and Nino Vaccarella. Both Ortner and Casoni won hill climb races and the former also placed first in class at Anderstorp. During the 1970 season, it was campaigned by Squadra Corsa Meda for 'Pal Joe' in a variety of events in Italy, including the Imola round of the European 2-Litre Championship where 'Pal Joe' finished ninth overall. Shortly after its contemporary racing career, it joined the fabulous Abarth collection of Fabrizio Violati and was on display in his museum for many years. When sold at auction in 2014, it was fitted with a 1.3-litre engine but it is unclear if Violati bought the car in this configuration or that he changed it during its ownership to suit his particular needs. The smaller, 1.3-litre engine is still fitted to the car, which has now been restored to full running order and boasts the livery it wore at its April 1970 Monza debut.
