Chassis:
A new car built for the late 1961 South African campaign, chassis 937 was allocated to young Jim Clark. He used the car to score his very first Formula 1 victories, winning the Rand, Natal and South African Grands Prix. At the end of the campaign, it was sold to local South African racer Ernie Pieterse, who fielded the car in the 1962 and 1963 South African Grands Prix. Chassis 937 was eventually repatriated and prepared for historic racing. It was particularly successful in the hands of Simon Hadfield, who scored an upset victory in the 2008 Monaco Historic Grand Prix, beating all the later V8-engined cars. In 2018, it was also shown by a subsequent owner at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
