Chassis:
A works car, this Viper was first pressed into service by Viper Team Oreca at the 1997 Daytona 24 Hours. Piloted by Olivier Beretta, Tommy Archer and Dominique Dupuy, it finished 15th overall. The next outing was at Le Mans, where the factory team fielded it for Justin Bell, John Morton and Pierre Yver. They finished an impressive 14th overall after starting 38th. Ahead of the 1998 season, it was sold to a British privateer team for the British GT Championship. In 1999, a subsequent owner raced the car in the Spanish GT Championship with some success. By the early 2000s, it had moved to the United States where it was fielded in several ALMS races during the 2001 season. In most recent years, it joined the stable of a French historic racer and was restored to its 1997 works colours.
