Chassis:
One of a pair of new cars for the 1986 season, this was the main C8 raced by the factory team throughout the year. It was entered in the World Championship for Mike Thackwell and Henri Pescarolo, who were joined at Le Mans by John Nielsen. After a ninth and eighth early in the year, the car retired at Le Mans but was then driven to victory at the Nürburgring by Thackwell and Pescarolo. During its final outing in 1986, it was piloted to sixth at Spa. The C8 was then sold to the French Noel del Bello team, who campaigned the car with little luck during through to July of 1988. Following its contemporary racing career, it was acquired by Guatemalan collector Manfredo Lippman. He would own the car until his passing in 2015. It was then acquired from the estate by a Danish enthusiast, who had the car restored to full running order by British specialist Xtec Engineering. Chassis 86.C8.02 was ready in time for the 2018 Group C season opener at Barcelona.
