Chassis:
The seventh and final March 84G chassis built, this car was sold new to Mazdaspeed. It was fitted with a 13B rotary engine that, thanks to a pair of Hitachi turbochargers, was good for around 500 bhp. It was entered in the 1984 Fuji 1000 km for Takashi Yorino and Yoshimi Katayama. They started the race in 16th but failed to finish the race due to a turbocharger failure. Not raced again, it was retained by Katayama for many years. He eventually sold the unique Mazda engined March, still in highly original condition, to an enthusiast in New Zealand in 2014. It has since been shown and demonstrated at several events, including the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed where the 50th anniversary of March engineering was celebrated.
