Chassis:
One of the earliest Xylons built, this example was raced by the 'works' team before it was sold to Scottish racer Barry Filer for Jackie Stewart to race. He had his cars prepared at the Stewart family garage and after a test session at Oulton Park with young Jackie, Filer recognised that he was a rare talent. In Stewart's hands, the Xylon was successful during the 1962 season with several outright and class victories. Registered with the Glasgow plate of 'G 128', the little Marcos continued to be raced throughout the 1960s. It eventually returned to Marcos and when the specialist manufacturer went bankrupt during the 1990s was acquired by the next custodian along with the rest of the remains of the company. In highly original condition, it was sold at auction at the 2014 Silverstone Classic. The subsequent Italian owner has since demonstrated the car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed twice and also at the 2014 Goodwood Revival where it was part of the Jackie Stewart parade.
