Chassis:
Delivered new to the Japanese Team Trust ahead of the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans, this 962C was entered for George Fourché, Steven Andskar and Syunji Kasuya. Lining up 11th for the race, the Japanese Porsche finished 13th overall. Now with a high downforce body, the car returned to Le Mans the following year. Although still entered by Team Trust, the car was actually run by Courage Competition in 1991. Starting 22nd, chassis 962-159 ran well until a gearbox failure caused a retirement in the final hour of the race. Raced just twice during its contemporary racing career, it was acquired by specialist Bruce Canepa in 2008. His company comprehensively restored the 962C to its 1991 Le Mans configuration. In 2012, it was sold to a Swiss enthusiast and displayed in his private museum. Some seven years later, it was consigned to the RM Sotheby's London sale along with two other cars from the collection.
