Chassis:
Following its 1976 Turin Motor Show duties, the unique 308 GT Rainbow was painted light metallic blue. It was preserved in this guise for many years in the Bertone Museum. When Italian coach-builder faced bankruptcy many of the cars out of the collection were offered at auction. The 308 GT Rainbow was saved from the fate and instead passed to the Bertone Collection of the Automotoclub Storico Italiano (Italian Historic Car Club). At a very rare outing, it is seen here during the 2019 Chantilly Arts & Elegance where the designs of Marcello Gandini were celebrated with a dedicated class.
