Chassis:
Painted 'Miura Green' with a black leather interior, this SV was completed late in 1971. It was sold new to a Mr Stel from Udine. Through legendary Lamborghini engineer Claudio Zampolli, it was then sold to Southern Californian collector Dennis Christianssen. In 1977, it was sold back to Zampolli, who had the plan to upgrade the engine to dry sump lubrication. While the engine was out of the car, Zampolli's shop was broken into and the engine along with many spare parts and tools were stolen. Through his connections with Lamborghini, Zampolli managed to source a replacement engine block and the rare dry sump system. The work was completed in 1979, when the car was sold to a longterm owner. At some point, it was re-painted red and the interior re-upholstered with beige leather. After over forty years of single ownership and with just three private custodians from new, the rare dry sump engine Miura SV was consigned to the 2020 RM Sotheby's Arizona sale.
