Chassis:
First pressed into service at the German Grand Prix, this car debuted with a second place finish in the hands of René Arnoux. The next outing came at the Dutch Grand Prix where Arnoux qualified a lowly tenth. He more than made up for that in the race, by scoring a one-two victory beating his team-mate by 20 seconds. For the remainder of the year, chassis 068 served as a spare and was not raced again. Following its contemporary racing career, the Dutch Grand Prix winning machine was sold to French distributor Charles Pozzi. The 126 C3 remained at Ferrari until 2001 when it was acquired by publisher Michel Hommell for his museum in Loheac. From this fabulous collection, it was consigned to the 2020 Artcurial Retromobile sale.
