The third of three XJ220Cs prepared for Le Mans, this car was entered by Jaguar Sport for Paul Belmondo, Jay Cochran and Andreas Fuchs. By 5am, it took over the class lead from its sister car but the effort was thwarted first by a violent spin caused by a burst tyre and then overheating issues, resulting in a cracked cylinder head and instant retirement. Now in private hands, it was entered for Le Mans two years later but a mechanical issue once again prompted a retirement. Following its contemporary racing career, it was sold to Japanese enthusiast, who had it restored to its guise by marque specialist Don Law Racing. Little used since, it was eventually consigned to the 2020 Artcurial Retromobile sale.
