Chassis:
Fitted with a Heini Mader tuned BMW engine, the first T298 was delivered to French racing driver Jean-Louis Bos. In Motul colours, he used the car to win the 1979 European Hill Climb championship. It was then raced by Gérard Xiberras to second in the championship in 1982 and 1984. Following its contemporary racing career, it eventually ended up in the hands of Sylvain Stepak, who used it in historic races. It has since been raced by subsequent owners Olivier Cazalieres, Jean-Marc Merlin and Eric de Doncker. In 2010, it was comprehensively rebuilt by specialists Equipe Europe. It has since been sold to a British historic racer.
