Chassis:
The very first CTR2 Sport built, this example was ordered new by Steve Beddor. It was entered in the 1997 Pikes Peak Hill Climb along with a sister car that was driven by Beddor's brother David. It featured an engine that was tuned even further to reportedly produce just over 700bhp. Steve Beddor drove the car to Pikes Peak on the road and then finished second in the open class. The car was then extensively raced with great success in Porsche Club of North America events during the next decade. Beddor finally sold the car through RUF to a German enthusiast. It was brought back to its home country and registered for road use. On pump gas, the twin-turbo engine now produces just over 590bhp. In the Spring of 2020, the car's second owner consigned the first CTR2 Sport to RM Sotheby's online-only European Sale.
