Chassis:
Commissioned by German racer Helmut Felder, this 250 GT SWB was completed in the spring of 1960. Felder raced the car in several German events during the 1960 seasons before selling it on to Peter Noecker. He also campaigned the car extensively, sometimes with Felder as his co-driver. The best result was a class win the Nürburgring 1000km in 1962 where Noecker share the driving duties with Wolfgang Seidel. The third owner was Erich Bitter, who participated in several events during 1964. Following its contemporary racing career, 1917GT was sold to the United Kingdom. By the late 1970s, it was back in Germany where it was briefly owned and raced by Siggy Brunn and then joined the long-term ownership of Ernest Schuster in 1981. Just over two decades later, it joined the stable of Italian racer Andrea Burani. While in the ownership of Peter Neumark, it was comprehensively restored. More recently, it was acquired by another British collector, who has regularly raced it in the Peter Auto Greatest's Trophy.
