Chassis:
Completed in the summer of 1965, this second series 26R was delivered in September of that year to Ian Walker Racing. It was subsequently fielded as a works supported rally car for Brian Culcheth. He finished second in the Radcap Rally and third in the Chiltern Rally. The following year, with Ian Walker himself at the wheel and with Attis Kraukis as a co-driver, chassis 26-S2-33 scored an outright win in the Jacobean Rally. In May of 1968, the Elan 26R was sold to Michael Alan Harris, who converted the car for road use. From 1979 to 1999, it was owned and raced by Malcolm Ricketts. It then changed hands several times and spent a brief spell in the United States. Now repatriated to Great Britain, this highly original Elan 26R has returned to the racing track.
