Chassis:
The first of three 935 K3s sold new to Ted Field for this Interscope racing team, this car was first raced at the 1980 Road Atlanta 1000 km race. Usually driven by Field himself and/or Danny Ongais, it was used through to the Sebring 12 Hours at the start of the 1982 season. The best result was a second place finish at the 1981 Lime Rock 200 Miles where Field was joined by Bobby Rahal. In 1983, it was raced twice by Drax Racing, with the second outing coming to an early end due to an accident. The 935 K3 was then repatriated to Germany where it was repaired and updated to the latest specifications with a flat-bottom and a massive intercooler. In this guise, it was raced in minor events before being placed in a private German collection. More recently, it was sold on and restored. The modifications were retained but the car was returned to Interscope colours. At the 2020 Dix Mille Tours, it was raced by three-time Le Mans winner Marco Werner.
