French racer François Lafon acquired this Viper ahead of the 2000 season to replace the Porsche 911 GT2 he had used in the previous couple of seasons. As with the 911, Lafon commissioned an artist to create the car's paint-scheme. This time the painter of choice was Frenchman Hervé di Rosa, who fittingly create a snake that was wrapped around the dark blue Viper. Appropriately entered by Team Art, the Viper was raced in the FFSA French GT Championship and the FIA GT Championship by Lafon and Jean-Pierre Jarrier for three seasons. In the first year, Lafon and Jarrier won a couple of FFSA races but the French pairing could not defend their 1999 title. Repainted red, it was then campaigned with limited success in the FFSA GT Championship from 2004 through to 2006 by the MTO Mirabeau Compétition team. Retained by Mirabeau for at least another decade, it was eventually sold to a French historic racer and restored to its original art car livery.
