Chassis:
Originally finished in dark brown with a beige leather interior, this 300 Sc Cabriolet was delivered to its first owner through the New York Mercedes-Benz distributorship. What happened to the car next is not known but it was eventually discovered in the early 2000s on the showroom floor of an independent repair shop. It was subsequently acquired by Canadian marque specialist Rudi Koniczek. At that time, the exterior colour had been changed to cream but other than that it had survived in complete and original condition with only 60,000 km on the odometer. Koniczek would preserve the car until it was sold to a collector in 2015. The new owner immediately commissioned Koniczek's shop Rudi & Company to completely restore the 300 Sc to its original configuration. The 1,800-hour project was completed in 2017. Three years later, the meticulous 300 Sc Cabriolet was consigned to the online-only Gooding & Company fall 2020 Geared Online sale.
