Chassis:
One of the first 25 R-Type Continentals built, this example was finished in black with off-white trim. Among the other options fitted were lightweight seats and a manual gearbox. It was delivered new to its first, Swiss owner through the Geneva Bentley agent. By 1955, it had made its way to North America where it remained for most of its life. In 1972, it was refurbished and fitted with a tuned S-series engine and twin exhausts. It was subsequently submitted to a body-off restoration. In 2003, it was repatriated by its long-term owner. Since then, it has been used extensively and maintained by RR&B Garages. Having owned the car for nearly two decades, the owner consigned the R-Type Continental to the 2020 Bonhams London sale.
