Especially for the customers that were keen on the limited edition, stripped down Competition Series version but also required creature comforts like air conditioning and the infotainment system, Ford created the 'Lightweight' specification of the GT. Known under code '600A', this option package came at a $70,000 premium. This Ford GT 'Lightweight' was acquired through Alan Jay Ford of Sebring, Florida. The first owner had the car paint protected but decided not to use it. In brand new condition, it was then consigned to the 2021 RM Sotheby's Arizona sale.
