Chassis:
An early production Shelby GT350, this example was still fitted with the trunk-mounted battery. Completed late in May of 1965, it was sold to Craig Eton through Riesmeyer Motor Co. in Missouri. The original owner campaigned the car in local SCCA events. It remained in Missouri during the next decades and was acquired by Mustang Club of America concours judge Bob Gaines of Kansas City in 2000. He used the car on the road for several years before restoring it to its correct 1965 specification. Hardly used since, it was sold to an enthusiast from California in 2016. Five years later, he consigned the car to the 2021 Gooding & Co. online only Scottsdale auction.
