Chassis:
The featured RS 60 Spyder 1500 most certainly played a part in the type's long history as it is the very car that finished second at Sebring behind its larger engined sister. It was entered in the 12-hour race by Brumos Porsche for Al Holbert and Roy Schechter. After miscalculating the fuel consumption, the car almost retired, but Holbert managed to limp back to the pits. Shortly after the Sebring race, the car was sold to Don Horn and he raced the car for many years in SCCA events. After its racing career it eventually ended up in the hands of ace historic racer Don Orosco, who restored and raced the car successfully for many years at the Monterey Historic Races. He was at one of those occasions awarded the Monterey Cup for outstanding presentation and performance. Miles Collier bought the car in 1984 and displayed it in his amazing museum for almost twenty years, before selling the car to the current owner. His son is seen racing this historically important Porsche during the 2006 and 2007 Monterey Historic Races.
