Chassis:
This is the sixth and final 86G delivered by March to BMW North America. It was later acquired by Gianpiero Moretti and fitted with a three-litre, turbocharged version of the Buick V6 engine. It was raced by Moretti himself in the ever striking MOMO colours. Halfway through the 1988 season, it was fitted with a high downforce tail that was developed by the Ian Dawson team that ran the car. Retired from active duty at the end of the 1988 season, it was later owned by noted collectors that included Bob Akin, Stan Wattles and Kent Abrahamsson. It was more recently sold to its current custodian by the Ascott Collection. Still fitted with the Buick V6 engine and liveried in MOMO colours, it finally returned to the racing track in 2021.
