Chassis:
One of 43 Series 2 26Rs built, this example was sold new to Ed Tucker, who owned the Dallas-based Lotus Southwest dealership. Tucker was also an accomplished racer and campaigned the Elan in SCCA events during the 1965 and 1966 seasons. Tucker retained the car until some of the assets, including the Elan, of the now shuttered Lotus Southwest were acquired by Lotus enthusiast Elton Clark in 1973. He placed chassis 26-S2-21 in storage, where it remained until 1998 when it passed to Dave Bean, another Lotus aficionado. It changed hands once more in 2005 when it was repatriated by Tony Thompson. His company restored the car and fitted it with a Geoff Richardson built engine for historic racing. It has since been actively campaigned by a succession of owners.
