Chassis:
The first of the ten hybrid 935½s built, this example was sold new to well known Porsche privateers Brumos Racing. Shortly after taking delivery, it was entered in the Sebring 12 Hours for lead driver Peter Gregg and Jim Busby. They started from pole position and eventually finished third overall. After the race, Busby acquired the car and raced it for the remainder of the season with a second place finish at Laguna Seca as the best result. The next custodian was Monte Shelton, who upgraded the car to full 935 specification and scored an outright victory in the 1978 Trans-Am race at Mont-Tremblant. It was raced through to the 1983 season, receiving several upgrades along the way. Following its retirement for active duty, it has been owned by several noted collectors and more recently was restored to its original configuration. Following the completion of the work, it was shown only at Amelia Island in 2021 and was then consigned to the official Gooding Pebble Beach auctions.
