Chassis:
From a bare shell supplied by Porsche, this 911 was built up to the latest GT2 specifications by Wieth Racing in 1999. It was ready in time for Franz and Niko Wieth to compete in the FIA GT season finale at Zhuhai. The Wieths qualified 13th and finished the race in 11th place. The father and son team then raced in nine of the ten rounds of the 2000 FIA GT Championship with the car. The best result was a sixth place finish at the A1-Ring round. For the 2001 season, the Wieths stepped up to a new Ferrari 550 Maranello and the 911 GT2 was retired from active duty. Today, it is owned by a German historic racer, who has brought the ex-Wieth Racing machine back to the race track.
