Chassis:
Entered in the 1000 Lakes Rally Finland for Ari Vatanen, this is the very first Impreza to score points in a World Rally Championship event. At the model's debut, Vatanen drover 93-004 to a second place finish. It was also raced later by Colin McRae and Richard Burns before being retired from the works team at the end of 1994. It was then acquired by Possum Bourne from New Zeeland. It was not pressed back into service until Bourne damaged one of his other Imprezas during the 1996 season. He competed with this car in the final rounds of that year's Australian Rally Championship, which he would end up wining. He carried on racing 93-004, defending his title in 1997 and 1998. Following Bourne's untimely death in 2003, the car was acquired by an Australian enthusiast. He had the hugely successful Impreza restored to its original specification and guise. Chassis 93-004 was then only used at a select number of events before it was consigned to the October, 2021 Artcurial Automobiles sur les Champs sale.
