Chassis:
Completed in 1988, this is the original Cizeta-Moroder prototype. Finished in pearl white with a red leather interior, it was unveiled at a special event hosted by Jay Leno. It was subsequently also shown at the LA Auto Show and the Geneva Motor Show. Following its show duties, it was retained by Giorgio Moroder himself. Compared to the later production cars there are subtle differences to the exterior and it features a completely different interior. Having spent several decades in storage, Moroder decided the car deserved a complete recommissioning. On the recommendation of Jay Leno, he entrusted the unique Cizeta-Moroder to Canepa Design. Completely rebuilt and modified where needed to make the car fully roadworthy, the work took several years to complete. Rarely seen since the late 1980s, it was subsequently consigned to the RM Sotheby's Arizona sale.
