Chassis:
Palo Alto, California based Porsche and Volkswagen dealer, and privateer racer Emile Pardee acquired this 718 RSK new from the factory. Pardee raced the car in SCCA events and racked up three outright and ten class wins between 1959 and 1961. The successful 718 RSK was retired from contemporary and eventually ended up on the East Coast. It was then acquired by the long-term custodian in 1970. He had the car stored for many years and it did not resurface until 2014 when it was entrusted to specialist Ray Morgan of Vintage Motorcar Restorations. The four-year restoration was completed in time for the 2018 Amelia Island Concours. Four years later, and after over 50 years of single family ownership, it was consigned to the Gooding Amelia Island auction as one of the headliners.
