Chassis:
Built in 1953, this 300 S Roadster is understood to have been sold to an enthusiast in Europe. It was later exported to Venezuela, where a New York-based collector discovered the car during the 1970s. He brought the car back to the Tri State area and it remained in his ownership for 49 years. The 300 S Roadster was used on the road regularly during the first years of his ownership but was stored in a New Jersey garage where it remained for several decades. It was eventually discovered in highly original condition and brought to California. Some time during its eventful life, it did receive a respray and the interior has also been re-upholstered. All the major components are still original and matching numbers. In still unrestored and effectively barn-find condition, it was consigned to the 2022 Bonhams Scottsdale auction.
