Chassis:
The fifth and final FW14 built, this example was first pressed in to service at the French Grand Prix with Nigel Mansell at the helm. He won at the car's debut and then scored back-to-back wins at the British and German Grands Prix as well. After his British Grand Prix win, he famously picked up Ayrton Senna who had ran out of fuel and was returned to the pits sitting on the left side-pod of this FW14. Later in the year, Mansell also scored wins at Monza and Barcelona, while he placed second in FW14-05 at Hungarian and Australian Grands Prix. At the end of the season, the Williams Grand Prix Engineering team presented Mansell with this highly successful Grand Prix. He would keep the car in his collection for over 30 years. In 2022, it was consigned to the RM Sotheby's Monaco sale. The five-time Grand Prix winner was in need of a comprehensive rebuild before it could be used again.
