Chassis:
One of the Maserati Works racers, chassis 4503 scored an impressive debut victory in the 1957 Sebring 12 Hours race in the hands of Juan Manuel Fangio and Jean Behra. Later in the year Sir Stirling Moss joined Behra to score a win in the Swedish Grand Prix. The car got severely damaged in the disastrous Caracas Grand Prix. Fortunately it was completely rebuilt and eventually sold to a Brazilian amateur racer. Today, chassis 4503 is owned by an American collector, who regularly shows and races this very important Maserati. It is seen here at the 2008 Quail, a Motorsports Gathering and a year later at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.
