Chassis:
The very first Porsche 956 customer car built, chassis 101 was raced by the German Kremer team during the 1983 season. At Le Mans, it was driven to third overall by Mario Andretti, Michael Andretti and Philippe Alliot. Later in the year, Franz Konrad won the Diepholz DRM race with this car. No victories were scored in 1984. For the 1985 season, it was sold to the Japanese Nova Engineering team and raced in FromA colours. With team owner Yojiro Yoneyama and Hideki Okada at the wheel, the car was driven to another victory, at the 1986 Suzuka 1000 kms. It was retired at the end of the season and was acquired by Vern Schuppan in 1987. The highly original machine changed hands again in 1995 when it was acquired by a British enthusiast. At the time the car had already been entrusted to Trevor Crisp of Katana Ltd. for a meticulous restoration to its 1983 Le Mans colours and configuration. In the same ownership for over 20 years, it was then sold to a German historic racer through Maxted-Page in the late 2010s. Beautifully prepared by specialists Katana, it was then raced at the 2020 Monza Historic by the owner and Mike Wilds.
