Well known Hollywood movie director Clarence Leon Brown commissioned this 250 Europe from Ferrari for his use on the French Riviera. He showed the car at the Cannes Concours d’Elegance where it won best of show. Later in the decade, he brought the car back home to the United States where it was acquired by Lorne Garden in 1958. In 1961, it was sold on to fellow Seattle resident Stan E. Baker. He had the car repainted cream white and showed it twice with great success at Pebble Beach. Having owned the car for over four decades, Baker finally sold the 250 Europa in 2003 to Tom Shaughnessy. After changing hands once more in the United States, it was repatriated to Europe by a British enthusiast in 2010 and then found only its seventh owner in 2018. Apart from the re-paint, the car survived in remarkably original condition and has been fully Ferrari Classiche certified. In 2023, it was consigned to the Gooding London sale.
