Chassis:
The very last Lotus 15 built, chassis 628/3 was exported to the United States. It was raced extensively in the south and central regions of America and also during the Nassau Speed Week by its first owner John C. Kilburn and with considerable success. For the 1961 season, it was fitted with a dry-sump Buick 215 V8 engine, adding several more wins to its tally. In more recent years, it was restored to its original Black Bull Stable configuration by KTR Motorsports. During this process, the Buick engine was preserved. In the early 2020s, it was in Danish ownership and campaigned in the Peter Auto Sixties’ Endurance events. It was shared at that year’s Le Mans Classic by the owner and Danish racing legend Jan Magnussen.
