Chassis:
Supplied new to Team Schuppan in May of 1989, this 962C was the first customer car fitted with the latest water-cooled heads and Bosch Motronic MP 1.7 engine management system. Liveried in Takefuji colours, it was entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Will Hoy, Dominic Dobson and a very young Jean Alesi. Sadly, a fire entered their charge early. Chassis 962-143 was pressed into service once more in 1989 when it was raced to sixth in the Fuji 1000 Kilometres by Martin Donnelly and Johnny Herbert. The car then passed to the British Team Davey, who campaigned the 962C with little success in the World Sports Car Championship. Following its contemporary racing career, it spent a decade in a museum. During the early 2000s, it was acquired by a historic racer, who campaigned the car in historic events. More recently, it passed to a German enthusiastic. He entered 962-143 in the 2023 Le Mans Classic, where it was re-united with Dominic Dobson.
