Chassis:
The third of three JS21s constructed using JS19 chassis, this car was allocated to Raul Boesel. With the exception of the Belgian Grand Prix where he raced the spare chassis, the Brazilian used JS21/3 for everything out during the 1983 season. His best result in a Grand Prix was seventh at Long Beach, while he also placed fifth in the non-championship Race of Champions at Brands Hatch. Believed to be the only JS21 that survived in full running order, this example was briefly campaigned in historic events during the early 2000s. It more recently joined a formidable collection of Ligier and Matra racing cars and was meticulously restored, with conventional springs and dampers, for the owner by Soheil Ayari. The quick Frenchman was also entrusted with the driving duties during its 2022 and 2023 outings. With all bugs ironed out, Ayari dominated both Formula 1 races during the 2023 Estoril Classics.
