Chassis:
Due to the unusual sleeve-valve engine many of the Minervas were abandoned and it is estimated that only seven of the fifty ALs constructed have survived. Pictured above is the only Cabriolet known to exist today. The beautiful body was fitted by Belgium's Van Den Plas; not to be confused with the related, but England based Vanden Plas. After a thorough restoration the rare Minerva was shown at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it received a 'Best in Class' award. At least one of the other six surviving ALs is also a Pebble 'Best in Class' winner.
