Chassis:
One of 37 SWB California Spiders fitted with covered headlights, this example was finished in dark metallic blue with a red interior. It was also accompanied from new by a factory hard-top. It was delivered through Italauto SA in Lausanne, Switzerland to a Mr Barbour. In 1965, 3095GT moved across the border to Grenoble in France. The next custodian also used the car extensively and it was exported to the United States in 1968 with an impressive 93,000 miles on the odometer. At this time, the car was re-painted red in order to appeal to a broader audience.
Following a spell on the West Coast, the Ferrari moved back to Switzerland during the late 1970s. In the 1980s, the California Spider travelled across the Atlantice once more before it was repatriated to Italy in the late 1990s to join the formidable collection of Emilio Gnutti. He had the California Spider certified by Ferrari Classiche in 2006 at which time it was confirmed that the car retains the original chassis, body, engine and other major mechanical components. Gnutti sold the Ferrari in 2012 and it changed hands once before it was consigned to headline the 2024 Gooding Pebble Beach Auctions.
