Commissioned on February 2nd, 1957, this 200Si was delivered to Fernando Pagliarini in the following month. A gentleman racer, Pagliarini was an oil-man by trade. He immediately entered the car in the Mille Miglia with a 05:04 starting time. He finished the day sixth in class and 23rd overall. With road racing banned by the Italian government after the tragic Mille Miglia, Pagliarini turned to circuit racing and hill climbs with considerable success. He campaigned the car well into the 1958 season before returning the car to Maserati for them to sell. In 1959, it was acquired by American Tommy Meehan. He raced the car in local events as did the next custodian. Following its contemporary racing career, the 200Si remained in American hands with owners including collectors like Ed Niles and Anthony Podell, who would keep 2415 for two decades. In the early 2000s, it was repatriated to Italy and following a spell in German ownership, it returned to the United States in 2012. Retaining its original body and chassis, the Maserati is fitted with a replacement engine to allow for extensive use. The numbers matching straight-four is still with the car. After a dozen years in single ownership, during which it saw extensive use, 2415 was consigned to the 2024 Broad Arrow Auctions Monterey Jet Center sale.
